# Cybersecurity Guidance Updates Proposed

FDA has published a draft guidance, *Select Updates for the Premarket Cybersecurity Guidance: Section 524B of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act*, to propose select updates to the guidance *Cybersecurity in Medical Devices: Quality System Considerations and Content of Premarket Submissions*. The draft [document](https://www.fda.gov/media/176944/download?ref=fdaweb.com) says the agency intends to incorporate the updates proposed in it into the premarket cybersecurity guidance as one final guidance after obtaining and considering public comment on the proposed select updates.

“The sections of the existing premarket cybersecurity guidance that are unaffected by these proposed updates are not intended to be substantively changed, except for technical edits for consistency,” FDA says.

Comments on the draft will be accepted for 60 days.
