De Novo Authorization for Dexter Surgical Robot

FDA has granted Distalmotion a de novo marketing authorization for the Dexter Surgical Robot for adult inguinal hernia repair. The device is designed to “seamlessly integrate” into existing operating workflows, and compatible with current operating room equipment, according to the company. It offers single-use instruments and permits “direct and quick access to the patient from the sterile surgeon console, allowing surgeons the flexibility to choose the best technique for each step of the procedure."
