Debarment Over ‘Unapproved’ Oncology Drugs

Federal Register notice. FDA has issued an order debarring physician Su-Chiao Kuo for three years from providing services in any capacity to a person that has an approved or pending drug product application. The action is based on a finding that Kuo was convicted of a misdemeanor for causing the introduction or delivery for introduction into interstate commerce of prescription drugs that were misbranded. In 2014, Kuo entered a guilty plea related to her purchase of oncology drugs, including docetaxel and zoledronic acid, from a drug distributor located in Canada. Because the drugs originated outside the U.S., they were not approved by FDA and lacked adequate directions for use in their labeling. To view the notice, click here.
