Dermavant NDA Filed for Psoriasis Drug

Dermavant Sciences has submitted an NDA for tapinarof for treating mild, moderate and severe plaque psoriasis in adult patients. The submission for the therapeutic aryl hydrocarbon receptor modulating agent is based on data from two Phase 3 studies (PSOARING 1 and PSOARING 2) and interim results from PSOARING 3, a 40-week, open-label safety study. In the studies, treatment with tapinarof cream led to statistically significant improvement in Physician Global Assessment scores, according to the company. “Approximately 40% of patients achieved complete disease clearance with continued therapy beyond 12 weeks,” it says.
