# Device Resilient Supply Chain Workshop Scheduled

FDA will hold a three-day virtual public workshop on “Building Medical Device Supply Chain Resilience: A Healthcare and Public Health Ecosystem-Wide Collaboration” on 6/7-9\. A meeting [announcement](https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/workshops-conferences-medical-devices/virtual-public-workshop-building-medical-device-supply-chain-resilience-healthcare-and-public-health?ref=fdaweb.com) says the workshop is to discuss ways to foster resiliency in the medical device supply chain and to seek input on the agency’s new Resilient Supply Chain Program (RSCP).

A separate [announcement](https://www.fda.gov/about-fda/cdrh-offices/resilient-supply-chain-program-medical-devices?ref=fdaweb.com) says the RSCP mission is to strengthen public health supply chains by proactively monitoring, assessing, and communicating risks and vulnerabilities to prevent shortages of medical devices. FDA expects that the RSCP will: 

- develop strategies, analyses, and informational products to prevent and, when appropriate, mitigate medical device supply chain disruptions and shortages;
- identify supply chain risks and provide actionable information on those risks to medical device manufacturers, medical device distributors, healthcare delivery organizations, patients, healthcare workers, and government partners;
- develop communication channels across the medical device ecosystem to enhance collaborations for developing prevention and risk-of-reduction strategies; and
- collaborate with government partners and medical device stakeholders to triage supply chain disruption and/or shortage signals, determine potential impacts, and provide public health information to support an informed response.
