FDA has posted an online information sheet strongly advising women against the use of cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and marijuana in any form during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. It discusses the types of cannabis products, potential side effects during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, and what consumers should know about the products and their side effects. It also notes that FDA has only approved one prescription CBD product to treat a rare form of seizures, and that all other products being marketed have not been evaluated by FDA for use as a drug.
