Don’t Use FarmaKeio Superior Sterile Products: FDA

FDA is warning patients and healthcare professionals not to use products intended to be sterile produced by North American Custom Laboratories, doing business as FarmaKeio Superior Custom Compounding, Richardson, TX. An agency announcement says FDA investigators recently inspected the compounding facility and observed conditions that could cause the drugs produced to become contaminated or otherwise pose risks to patients. FDA says it recommended the company voluntarily recall all unexpired drugs intended to be sterile and cease sterile operations until the company has taken adequate corrective actions. However, the notice says, FarmaKeio has not initiated a recall.

FDA says it is not aware of any reports to date of illness associated with using FarmaKeio Superior Custom Compounding’s drugs.
