# Draft Guide on Generic Drug User Fees

FDA has released a [draft guidance](https://www.fda.gov/downloads/Drugs/GuidanceComplianceRegulatoryInformation/Guidances/UCM582475.pdf?ref=fdaweb.com) on “Assessing User Fees Under the Generic Drug User Fee Amendments of 2017.” The document outlines changes to the generic drug user fee program when it was recently reauthorized. It provides an explanation about the new fee structure and types of fees for which entities are responsible. Additionally, it discusses the process for submitting payments to FDA, the consequences for failing to pay required fees, and the process for requesting a reconsideration of a user fee assessment.
