FDA released on 10/8 a new table supporting the use of new approach methodologies and reduction in animal use in drug testing. An agency [notice](https://www.fda.gov/about-fda/center-drug-evaluation-and-research-cder/replacing-and-reducing-animal-testing-cder?utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=govdelivery) says the table contains an inventory of drug development contexts for which CDER is open to a streamlined nonclinical program.

The notice says streamlined nonclinical programs include reduced sample size, reduced number of species tested, and use of new approach methodologies.

“The table provides general information; sponsors should consult guidance documents and appropriate FDA review divisions for more information,” the post says.
