Elite Pharmaceuticals ANDA for Generic Adderall XR

FDA has approved an Elite Pharmaceuticals ANDA for a generic version of Shire’s Adderall XR (dextroamphetamine saccharate, amphetamine aspartate, dextroamphetamine sulfate, amphetamine sulfate) in 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, 20 mg, 25 mg, and 30 mg tablets. The central nervous system stimulant is indicated for treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. According to Elite, the branded product and its generic equivalents had U.S. sales of $1.3 billion over the last 12 months. Elite will manufacture and package the product, while Lannett Company will serve as the exclusive U.S. distributor.
