EUA Sought for Fluvoxamine as Covid Treatment

University of Minnesota researchers have submitted an emergency use authorization application for fluvoxamine (Luvox and others), a generic antidepressant that they believe could be used as a Covid-19 treatment. MedPage Today reports that the researchers have been investigating fluvoxamine and other repurposed drugs.

They said they prepared the application themselves because no major drug company would want to put the effort into a generic drug.

The researchers say that two controlled trials support the use of fluvoxamine in Covid cases.
