# Evusheld Shows Neutralizing Activity Against Variants

AstraZeneca says new preclinical authentic “live” virus data from Washington University School of Medicine demonstrated that the company’s Evusheld (tixagevimab co-packaged with cilgavimab) “retains potent neutralizing activity against the emerging and highly transmissible Omicron SARS-CoV-2 BA.2 subvariant. The data also showed that Evusheld retains activity against the original Omicron variant,” AstraZeneca says. “In addition, in vivo (live organism) data generated using mice infected with Omicron BA.1, BA.1.1 and BA.2 demonstrated that Evusheld significantly reduced the viral burden and limited inflammation in the lungs for all three subvariants.”
