# Ex-FDA Gene Therapy Guru Joins Greenleaf

Former CBER Office of Tissues and Advanced Therapies (OTAT) director **Wilson Bryan**  has joined regulatory consulting firm Greenleaf Health as executive vice president for drug and biological products. Bryan earlier this year retired from the agency after serving 19 years, including the past seven years as OTAT director. As director, he oversaw FDA's oversight of cell and gene therapies and other advanced technologies.

Bryan is a neurologist by training and graduated from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Before coming to FDA, he served on the neurology faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School for 13 years. He also has previously been involved as an investigator on clinical trials in cerebrovascular disease and neuromuscular disorders, particularly amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Greenleaf says Bryan’s experience beefs up the firm’s “cell and gene therapy capabilities and brings added perspective to the firm's strategic advising on drug, biologic, and medical device regulation more broadly. As a neurologist and neuromuscular specialist, Wilson deepens Greenleaf's expertise in those fields as well.”
