# FDA Accepts Collegium IND for Abuse-Deterrent Analgesic

FDA has accepted a Collegium Pharmaceutical IND application to begin a clinical trial of Hydrocodone DETERx, an abuse-deterrent, extended-release analgesic for treating chronic pain. The company says the trial aims to evaluate the safety, bioavailability, and abuse deterrence properties of Hydrocodone DETERx. It adds that the microsphere-in-capsule, oral formulation will be sprinkled directly into the mouth, on to soft foods, or delivered via feeding tubes.
