FDA Accepts Elranatamab BLA for Priority Review

FDA has accepted for priority review a Pfizer BLA for elranatamab to treat patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. The company says FDA is expected to decide on the BLA this year.

Elranatamab is described as an investigational off-the-shelf, humanized BCMA CD3-targeted BsAB. BsABs are described as a novel form of cancer immunotherapy that bind to and engage two different targets at once. One arm binds directly to specific antigens on cancer cells and the other arm binds to T-cells, bringing both cell types together. Pfizer says the binding affinity of elranatamab for BCNA and CD3 has been engineered to elicit potent T-cell-mediated anti-myeloma activity.
