# FDA Alert on Abbott Glucose Monitor Sensors

FDA has issued an early alert concerning certain Abbott Diabetes Care glucose monitor sensors, warning patients and healthcare providers about potentially dangerous inaccuracies in blood sugar readings. The alert covers certain FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors. Abbott recently notified distributors, healthcare providers, and customers, advising that affected sensors be removed from use immediately. According to Abbott, to date there have been 736 serious injuries and seven deaths linked to the issue.
