# FDA Alert on Fresenius Kabi Infusion Pumps

An [FDA alert](https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/medical-device-recalls/update-alert-infusion-pump-issue-fresenius-kabi-usa?ref=fdaweb.com) is advising healthcare providers about Fresenius Kabi’s Ivenix large-volume pumps and their increased chance of issuing a non-recoverable pump problem alarm. The company has identified a subset of pneumatic valves installed in some Ivenix pumps that could experience the alarm issue. The alert says that devices with the affected valves should be removed from use to be evaluated and returned to Fresenius Kabi’s facility for repair.

The infusion pumps are designed to deliver fluids and medications from one of two inlet source containers to patients through a single outlet. To date, the company has not reported any injuries or deaths associated with the issue.
