# FDA Approves 2nd Site to Make Shire’s Cinryze

FDA has approved a Shire application for the technology transfer of Cinryze’s (C1 esterase inhibitor \[human\]) drug product manufacturing process to its Vienna, Austria manufacturing site. This is a second production source for Cinryze, in addition to an undisclosed third-party manufacturer, to meet increased product demand. Cinryze is an injectable prescription medicine that is used to help prevent swelling and painful attacks in teenagers and adults with hereditary angioedema.
