FDA has approved a CardioFocus PMA for the HeartLight Excalibur Balloon, a next-generation technology for treating paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. The device, which is intended to advance the company’s technology used in its FDA-approved [HeartLight Endoscopic Ablation System](http://www.cardiofocus.com/heartlight%5Fus.html?ref=fdaweb.com), introduces “an advanced feature set that optimizes the speed and magnitude of target tissue contact during pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) procedures,” the company says. It also features the company’s proprietary Dynamic Response technology that allows users to make “real-time adjustments to balloon size, allowing for optimal tissue contact,” it says.
