FDA Approves CutisPharma’s Oral Vancomycin

FDA has approved a CutisPharma NDA for Firvanq (vancomycin hydrochloride) oral solution for treating Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea and enterocolitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus, including methicillin-resistant strains. The company says that Firvanq will replace its FIRST-Vancomycin Unit-of-Use Compounding Kit, which has been available to pharmacists that need a convenient way to compound vancomycin oral liquid therapy. The product will be available in 25 mg/mL and 50 mg/mL strengths in 150 mL and 300 mL sizes.
