FDA Cancels Panel Meeting on GSK’s Zejula
Federal Register notice: FDA has canceled an 11/22 Oncologic Drugs Advisory Committee meeting to discuss a GlaxoSmithKline supplemental NDA for Zejula (niraparib) capsules. Panel members were scheduled to discuss the drug’s use for the maintenance treatment of adult patients with recurrent epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer who are in a complete or partial response to platinum-based chemotherapy. Recently, long-term data from the Phase 3 PRIMA study showed that Zejula maintained a sustained and clinically meaningful progression-free survival benefit as a maintenance therapy in patients with first-line ovarian cancer following a response to platinum-based chemotherapy, and FDA now says the meeting is no longer needed.
