FDA China Staff Reaches Out to Counterparts

FDA Office of International Programs China Office director Leigh Verbois says that China Office staff members spent five days touring the Yangtze River Delta region to meet with counterparts and share information. Writing in an FDA Voice blog post, Verbois says that the region is home to a significant number of FDA-regulated medical product manufacturers.

The team traveled nearly 2,000 miles to “meet with key leaders and experts to strengthen partnerships, share information, and build the foundation for future cooperative engagement,” she says. She concludes that the group returned to Beijing “feeling very satisfied that we accomplished much and clearer than ever that continued collaboration with Chinese regulators, industry, and academia will help to ensure that medical products manufactured for the U.S. market are safe and effective.”
