FDA Clears AI-Interpreting Echocardiography Software

FDA has cleared an iCardio.ai 510(k) for its artificial intelligence software EchoMeasure for interpreting echocardiography. The Los Angeles-based company develops machine and deep learning algorithms for analyzing ultrasound applications, with a specific focus on transthoracic echo, iCardio.ai says, adding that the software leverages a database of over 200 million images.

“The clearance for this system will act as the foundation on which future algorithms will be supported, namely our structural heart disease detection algorithm suite,” the company says.
