# FDA Clears Cepheid MRSA Test

FDA has cleared Cepheid’s Xpert MRSA NxG test for methicillin-resistant *Staphylococcus aureaus* (MRSA) infection. The company says the test runs on its GeneXpert molecular diagnostic system and delivers results in about an hour. It has been validated for use with Copan Eswab and rayon swabs, Cepheid said.
