FDA Clears Cynosure Laser Option for Tattoo Removal

FDA has cleared a Cynosure 510(k) to market a new laser delivery system for its PicoSure aesthetic picosecond laser for removing the full color spectrum of tattoo inks. “The new 1064 nm wavelength is designed for removal of black and other dark tattoo inks,” Cynosure says. The laser is also used to treat a range of dermatologic conditions including wrinkles, acne scars and pigmented lesions. The 1064 nm wavelength will be offered as an upgrade to existing PicoSure customers, it says.
