FDA Clears Esaote Open MRI System

FDA has cleared an Esaote North America 510(k) for its Magnifico Open MRI, a whole-body MRI system intended to bridge the gap between traditional musculoskeletal imaging and whole-body imaging. It features the company’s True-Motion technology that provides real-time imaging solution of the joint, which is “ideal” for sports medicine injuries, according to Esaote. It also offers “Metal Artifact Reduction” that allows improved image quality for post-surgical patients with metal implants. Additionally, the device features an open-gantry design that Satoe says helps imaging for children, and large and claustrophobic patients.
