FDA has cleared an Intellia Therapeutics IND for its NTLA-2001 to treat transthyretin amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy. The company [says](https://ir.intelliatx.com/news-releases/news-release-details/intellia-therapeutics-announces-fda-clearance-investigational-0?ref=fdaweb.com) a global Phase 3 study of the drug is expected to start by the end of this year.

NTLA-2001 is described as the first CRISPR therapy candidate to be administered systemically to edit genes inside the human body.
