FDA Clears Medical AI Imaging Software

FDA has cleared a Bracco Diagnostics and Subtle Medical 510(k) for their artificial intelligence-powered software AiMify for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain. The software is designed to enhance brain MRIs, particularly detecting small and poorly enhanced lesions, the companies say.

“AiMIFY leverages advanced AI technology to amplify the contrast enhancement of brain MR images up to two times the level obtained with a labeled dose of gadolinium-based contrast agents,” they say. “The software’s effectiveness has been validated across diverse test data, including various patient demographics, pathologies, lesion sizes, image scanner vendors, MRI sequences, and acquisition orientations.”
