FDA Clears Nexxt Spine 3-D Printing for Interbody/Vertebral Devices

FDA has cleared a Nexxt Spine 510(k) for the Nexxt Matrixx System, 3-D printed porous titanium equipment for creating interbody and vertebral body replacement (VBR) devices. The implants exhibit up to four times more surface area for bone apposition and up to two times more open pore volume than conventional spinal implants, it says. The first products to feature the Nexxt Matrixx technology are available in both interbody and VBR options in varying height, length, width and lordotic angulation combinations to accommodate anatomic and clinical circumstances of each patient, it adds.
