> FDA has cleared a Stimwave 510(k) for its StimQ Peripheral Nerve Stimulator (PNS) System for relieving severe intractable chronic pain of peripheral origin. The implant is placed next to peripheral nerve locations where pain is originating, according to the company. It wirelessly delivers small pulses of energy to electrodes placed at the peripheral nerve. The device is powered by a small, flexible and wearable external fabric patch unit. The company previously received FDA clearance for the Freedom-8A/4A Spinal Cord Stimulation System, which utilizes the same technology specifically for back and leg pain.
