# FDA Clears WAT Medical Migraine Device

FDA has cleared a WAT Medical 510(k) for its HeadaTerm for treating migraine headaches. The device uses “precision transcranial electrical stimulation technology to target the pain receptors in the brain via neuromodulation,” the company says. “By sending a particular frequency of electrical stimulation, pain-relieving hormones like endorphins are released, which results in higher pain-tolerance against primary headaches.” WAT says it is exploring using the transcranial electrical stimulation technology to target other areas of the body.
