> FDA has placed a clinical hold on the CARDIO-TTR study being developed by GlaxoSmithKline to evaluate Ionis Pharmaceuticals’ Ionis-TTRRX in patients with TTR (transthyreitin) amyloid cardiomyopathy. Ionis [says](http://ir.ionispharma.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=222170&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=2155171&ref=fdaweb.com) that the hold is in place while Glaxo provides answers to FDA questions about the Phase 3 study protocol stemming from Ionis’ ongoing Phase 3 NEURO-TTR study of the drug in patients with TTR familial amyloid polyneuropathy. The company says that NEURO-TTR is on track to complete in the first half of 2017.
