# FDA Credits 2019 Cybersecurity Work

FDA is closing National Cybersecurity Awareness Month with a listing of key 2019 agency activities to ensure medical device cybersecurity safety and awareness. - convened a patient engagement advisory committee that sought recommendations on integrating medical device cybersecurity risk into health risk communications;
- participated in the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s Software Transparency initiative;
- convened a public workshop on the premarket cybersecurity draft guidance;
- coordinated with MITRE to release an updated rubric for applying the Common Vulnerability Scoring System to medical devices;
- served in leadership roles in the Healthcare and Public Sector Coordinating Council; and
- served as co-chair for the International Medical Device Regulator’s Forum working group drafting a global medical device cybersecurity guide.
