# FDA Criminal Probe Gains Guilty Plea in Insulin Case

> An FDA Office of Criminal Investigations [probe](http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/CriminalInvestigations/ucm497057.htm?ref=fdaweb.com) has led to a Norfolk, VA man pleading guilty to one count of misbranding a drug and selling a drug outside of a legitimate supply chain. Patrick Simanjuntak, who sold insulin on Craigslist to an undercover FDA agent, will be sentenced on 8/1\. Simanjuntak had claimed the insulin had been obtained from medical facilities, specifically nursing homes.

McCormack**. “Our office will bring to justice those criminals who endanger unsuspecting consumers by purchasing and reselling these products outside the legitimate supply chain.
