# FDA Docket Seeks Data/Info on Vaping Injuries

The [agency says](http://s2027422842.t.en25.com/e/es?s=2027422842&e=302467&elqTrackId=376c7bc788024cd5a73d955f2e3dcbdc&elq=f6d9e36616e649e591aceeb501a8e194&elqaid=11263&elqat=1&ref=fdaweb.com) it is seeking “unpublished data or information related to the use of vaping products that are associated with recent lung injuries including information on specific chemicals, compounds, ingredients or combinations of ingredients that when inhaled or aerosolized, may be associated with \[lung injury\] symptoms, as well as product design and potential ways to prevent consumers from modifying or adding substances to these products that are not intended by the manufacturers.”

Data from patient reports and product sample testing point to vaping products containing tetrahydrocannabinol, with most suspect products provided by friends, family, or online dealers, FDA says. Additionally, it says the “presence of the compound vitamin E acetate in vaping products is strongly linked to the outbreak.”
