FDA has issued an [emergency use authorization for ventilators](http://s2027422842.t.en25.com/e/er?utm%5Fcampaign=2020-03-26%20FDA%20Issues%20Emergency%20Use%20Authorization%20for%20Ventilators&utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=Eloqua&s=2027422842&lid=12342&elqTrackId=281AE3F9464BBA2A730F79F1DAAE19F5&elq=b34d53ecfb0d44fc90fd59d6480b61f4&elqaid=11799&elqat=1), anesthesia gas machines modified for use as ventilators, and positive pressure breathing devices modified for use as ventilators, ventilator tubing connectors, and ventilator accessories to provide more needed devices for use in healthcare settings. The authorization covers devices that are not currently marketed in the U.S., or that are currently marketed in the U.S. but a modification is made to the device that would trigger a 510(k) submission, the agency says.
