# FDA Extends Review of Verrica Pharmaceuticals NDA

FDA has extended by three months its review of Verrica Pharmaceuticals’ NDA for VP-102 (cantharidin) for treating molluscum contagiosum, a common, highly contagious skin disease The review extension is intended to give FDA additional time to review information (major amendment) recently submitted by Verrica, including a training program and distribution model that address comments from the agency about a human factors study. Verrica describes VP-102 as a drug-device combination product that contains a GMP-controlled formulation of cantharidin delivered via a single-use applicator that allows for precise topical dosing and targeted administration. The new user fee review goal date is 9/23.
