# FDA Fast Track for Cynapsus Parkinson’s Diesease

FDA has granted Cynapsus Therapeutics a fast track designation for APL-130277, a product candidate for treating “off episodes” in patients with Parkinson’s disease. Off episodes are thought to occur when brain dopamine levels fall below a critical threshold to sustain relatively normal motor function, the company says. These episodes may be preceded by non-motor symptoms such as pain, tingling, sweating, and anxiety, which can alert patients that motor-impairing symptoms are returning. Cynapsus says its Phase 3 clinical program is nearing completion and it plans to submit an NDA in the first half of 2017.
