FDA Fast Tracks Invectys IVS-3001

FDA has granted fast-track designation to Invectys’ IVS-3001 for treating renal cell cancer. A company statement says the designation was based on data from an IND submission and the potential for meeting the unmet needs of patients with HLA-G positive locally advanced or metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma who have failed or are intolerant to standard renal cell carcinoma therapies.

The company says IVS-3001 is a cutting-edge CAR-T cell immunotherapy that targets the rarely exploited immune checkpoint and tumor-specific antigen HLA-G. The antigen can be used by tumors, Invectys says, to create a protective microenvironment, evading the immune system and promoting tumor growth. “By targeting this mechanism,” it says, “IVS-3001 aims to reinvigorate the body’s natural defense to combat cancer effectively.”
