FDA Funding Opportunity for Pediatric Device Consortia

FDA has announced a new funding opportunity for its Pediatric Device Consortia grants program, which is open for applications through 3/29. Under the program, applicants request funding to serve as a nonprofit consortium to provide expert advising and support services to innovators of pediatric medical devices. “The advising and services will focus on the total product life cycle for medical devices from concept, through pre-market development, to commercialization, and replacement by subsequent generations of devices,” an agency notice says. In addition, consortia should be able to provide expertise on evidence generation, including real-world evidence, for pediatric device development. FDA intends to support these awards for five years.
