# FDA Grant to Fund Pediatric Device Challenge

An FDA grant and a philanthropic gift from **Mei Xu**, founder of e-commerce platform Yes She May, will fund the [National Capital Consortium for Pediatric Device Innovation](https://c212.net/c/link/?t=0&l=en&o=2827961-1&h=3562181697&u=https%3A%2F%2Finnovate4kids.org%2F&a=National+Capital+Consortium+for+Pediatric+Device+Innovation&ref=fdaweb.com) (NCC-PDI), a product development competition focused on Covid-19-related pediatric medical devices that support home health monitoring and telehealth diagnosing and treatment during a pandemic. Submissions for the competition are being accepted through 7/6 and those selected will each receive a grant award up to $50,000\. Along with grant funding, one company from the competition will be selected by [Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS](https://c212.net/c/link/?t=0&l=en&o=2827961-1&h=2304075717&u=https%3A%2F%2Fjlabs.jnjinnovation.com%2F&a=Johnson+%26+Johnson+Innovation+%E2%80%93+JLABS&ref=fdaweb.com) to receive a one-year residency at JLABS in Washington, D.C., which will be located on the new [Children's National Research and Innovation Campus](https://c212.net/c/link/?t=0&l=en&o=2827961-1&h=392878832&u=https%3A%2F%2Fchildrensnational.org%2Fabout-us%2Four-health-system%2Fchildrens-national-research-and-innovation-campus&a=Children%27s+National+Research+and+Innovation+Campus&ref=fdaweb.com), currently under construction.
