# FDA Hold on Celyad Oncology Trial

FDA has told Belgium’s Celyad Oncology that it has placed a clinical hold on the company’s CYAD-101-002 (KEYNOTE-B79) Phase 1b trial due to insufficient information to assess the risk to study subjects. The company [says](https://celyad.com/2022/03/02/celyad-oncology-announces-clinical-hold-of-cyad-101-002-phase-1b-trial/?ref=fdaweb.com) it announced on 2/28 that it was voluntarily pausing the trial to investigate reports of two fatalities in the study.

Celyad says it is focused on developing chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR T) therapies for cancer.
