FDA Impacted by Trump Hiring Freeze

President Donald Trump 1/23 signed a presidential directive to freeze government-wide hiring, except for the military. The White House did not immediately release the directive’s text, and FDA declined to comment on the hiring freeze’s impact on the agency, instead directing any questions to the White House. Late last year, CDER director Janet Woodcock said her Center had more than 700 job vacancies and that the agency is struggling to hire and retain staff because pharmaceutical companies lure them away.
