FDA Import Alert for Some Chinese Syringes

FDA said on 5/16 it has imposed an Import Alert for Zhejiang Longde Pharmaceutical Co. and Shanghai Kindly Enterprise Development Group Co. to prevent plastic syringes made by the two China-based manufacturers from entering the U.S. The agency has been monitoring concerns about some Chinese plastic syringes since 11/30/2023.

The agency’s latest update says it now recommends that users immediately transition away from using plastic syringes made by the companies unless the use of the syringes is absolutely necessary until a transition to syringes that are not manufactured in China is complete.
