# FDA Inspection Cites McKesson on Product Tracing

A June FDA inspection of drug supplier McKesson has resulted in a [three-item Form 483](https://www.fda.gov/ucm/groups/fdagov-public/@fdagov-afda-orgs/documents/document/ucm616533.pdf?ref=fdaweb.com) citing deficiencies with product tr**a**cing requirements. The inspection took issue with the firm’s “deficient” systems to identify all illegitimate product subject to a notification from a trading partner, and to quarantine suspect or illegitimate product upon receipt of notification. The agency also cited McKesson’s systems and procedures to make notifications following a determination of an illegitimate product, calling them deficient because they do not instruct notifications to all immediate trading partners, and sufficient tracing information is not retained to identify trading partners that received such products.
