FDA Issues Data Modernization Action Plan

As a follow-up to its 9/2019 Technology Modernization Action Plan, that laid out a foundation for modernizing the agency’s technical structure and signaled the development of its ongoing strategy concerning data management and data itself, the agency has now released a Data Modernization Action Plan. An online post (contains links to both plans) says the data plan proposes a framework and actionable recommendations for the FDA data strategy with three key components:

identify and execute high-value driver projects for individual Centers and the agency;
develop consistent and repeatable data practices across the agency; and
create and sustain a strong talent network combining internal strengths with key external partnerships.
