FDA Launches DSCSA Small Dispenser Assessment

FDA is asking small dispensers under the Drug Supply Chain Security Act to complete an assessment that will evaluate their ability to conduct interoperable tracing of product at the package level. An agency announcement (contains a link to the assessment) says FDA encourages dispensers with 25 or fewer full-time employees to complete the assessment by 9/22.

The notice also says FDA is issuing exemptions from certain requirements under section 582 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to small dispensers and their trading partners until 11/27/2027 to allow time to complete the assessment, publish the final assessment report for public comment, and host a public meeting on the assessment
