FDA has named deputy commissioner for foods and veterinary medicine **Stephen Ostroff** acting commissioner after former commissioner **Robert Califf** resigned 1/20 as the Trump Administration assumed government responsibilities. Ostroff has served as deputy commissioner since 5/2016\. He previously served as acting commissioner from 4/2015 to 2/2016\. Before being named acting commissioner in 2015, Ostroff served as the chief scientist starting in 2/2014.
