FDA New Product-Specific Guidances

FDA has published 46 new or revised product-specific guidances (PSGs) with recommendations for developing generic drugs and generating evidence to support ANDA approvals. A notice says the latest batch includes 25 new and 21 revised PSGs; 34 PSGs for products with no approved ANDAs (including 19 complex products); 13 new and 11 revised PSGs for complex products; and PSGs for products used to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis, and post-transplant refractory cytomegalovirus.

When finalized, the notice says, the PSGs will describe the agency’s current thinking and recommendations on how to develop generic drug products that are therapeutically equivalent to specific reference-listed drugs.
