# FDA OKs ERX Phase 1 Leptin Trials

FDA has given ERX Pharmaceuticals approval to move to the next level in its Phase 1 study evaluating its ERX1000 leptin sensitizer in treating obesity. The company says ERX1000 “has already demonstrated proof-of-concept in first-in-human studies in obese subjects, having been generally well tolerated at doses up to 2 mg every three days for 28 days with clinically relevant dose-related reductions in body weight.”

ERX says it will start two additional concurrent 28-day studies of 4 mg of ERX1000 dosed at either every-six-day or every-three-day intervals. The goal of the additional studies is to accumulate safety data while seeking to delineate the maximum efficacious dose, the company says.
